Nellie Kress is a Texas native who paints in both watercolor & oils. She resides in Katy, Texas. Nellie studied art at Southwest Texas University in San Marcos, the University of Houston, & the University of St Thomas in Houston. In 1984 she received a teaching certificate in art from the University of St. Thomas.
Nellie has taught art in the public schools, at the University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch, in the Art After School Program for Creative Alternatives, in her studio, the Art League of Ft. Bend Gallery in Rosenberg, TX, and at the Watercolor Art Society Houston. In October 2005, she taught a workshop at the Botanic Gardens in Memphis TN. She has also juried a number of art shows in the Houston area.
Nellie has studied with a number of well known artists including Ronnie Wells, Betty Carr, Gale Webb, Hillary Page, Harold Phenix, Barbara Jeffries Clay, Gerry Finch, Kathy Stout, Vie Dunn Har, and others.
